Wei received a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, a Master's degree in Crop Germplasms, and a Doctoral degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Beijing, China. After graduation, she held a Postdoctoral position with Dr. Jianmin Wan at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and then with Dr. Aymeric Goyer at Oregon State University. She is currently a Visiting Research Associate working with Dr. Takahashi. Her research focuses on regulation of sulfur assimilation by chloroplast-localizing ATP sulfurylase in Arabidopsis thaliana.
