Hideki Takahashi is an associate professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the principle investigator (PI) of the Takahashi Lab.  He received his PhD from Chiba University in 1998.  Prior to his time at MSU, Dr. Takahashi was a Team Leader at RIKEN Plant Science Center and an adjunct professor at Yokohama City University.  His research at MSU primarily focuses on molecular mechanisms of sulfur and nitrogen assimilation and signaling. He is involved in undergraduate and graduate teaching and is an active editor for Journal of Experimental Botany and Frontiers in Plant Science (Section: Plant Nutrition.) His funding sources currently include two grants from the National Science Foundation.
